Anheuser-Busch InBev has cut McGarryBowen from its U.S. agency roster just eight months after naming the shop a lead agency for Bud Light, Ad Age has learned. Duties for the brand have been shifted to Translation Advertising without a review.
“To streamline our marketing efforts, we have decided to consolidate all Bud Light advertising responsibilities with Translation,” Paul Chibe, VP-marketing for the brewer’s U.S. division, said in a statement to Ad Age. “As a result, we have notified McGarryBowen we are ending our relationship. we thank McGarryBowen for their efforts on behalf of the Bud Light brand and wish them all the best.”
Dentsu-owned McGarryBowen won the Bud Light account in December along with Translation after a lengthy review that included at least a half dozen agencies. Originally, McGarryBowen was assigned lead creative duties on Bud Light, while Translation was tasked with line extensions such as Bud Light Lime, Bud Light Platinum, as well as NFL-related advertising for core Bud Light.

But it wouldn’t just be barrel tack, I would also do roping (cool colored ropes perhaps?), bull riding, etc.
2. A t-shirt, jewelry, trinket business. possibly even including horses, and I have no worries about inventory space whats so ever, I can even sell my products at the farmers market “more like a bring-your-small-business markey” every thursday right by my school.
3. I’m also into volleyball. Mabey a store with cute volleyball shirts, a large variety of colored spandex( a girl on a traveling team on my school team says they are super popular) mabey even cute colored volleyballs and knee pads, shoes, high socks, shoe laces, etc.
4. this could even be a part of the horse category, but Include other animals. Mabey even cute little doggy clothes, also for cats, ferrets, etc., cute fishy jars, cool cat toys, I really could go on and on and on about any of these topics lol
5. ooohhh and even purses, watches, jewelry, for both men and women. this could easily go into the above topics.
6. I could also make infant toys, baby items, and clotheing. which could, once again, be added into the above topics lol
but yeah, these are some topics I’m seriously considering.

2. I’m doing this for college funding, but am certainly not going to quit after college.
3. I understand it takes alot, but I’m ready for the challenge even if I have to wait a year.

Facebook announced today that it is rolling out Facebook Studio Edge to agencies worldwide.
Facebook Studio Edge is a set of learning courses designed to teach you how to get more out of your Facebook marketing. the company revealed the program back in June, but now it’s widely available.
The program consists of 10-15 minute courses focused on specific topics, such as apps, Pages and ads. Courses are interactive, and Facebook says it will continue to update them as needed (presumably as it offers more products).
“whether you’re looking to go deep on topics essential to your job or to expand your horizons, Studio Edge courses cover topics relevant to a wide range of agency audiences— from creative teams to media planners and technologists,” Facebook says.
As you complete courses, you can earn badges, which you can display next to any submitted case studies you’ve been credited on.

The city of Santa Fe will launch a new website next year, and planners say it will offer better access to information and services.
Carla Lopez, city marketing manager, said Monday that a $250,000 contract with a Santa Fe company called Desert Elements Designs should also result in cost savings for the city in the long run.
Beginning in the spring, she said, the city will own and maintain the site, rather than continue its contract with Civic plus that costs $33,200 a year.
The new site is expected to go live in late March and will feature some content that is not currently available on the city’s website, including a searchable database of contracts, she said. Its search feature should also work more effectively than the current search function — the No. 1 thing users of today’s site complain about.
The handling of customer requests, also known as a citizen response system, will be more robust on the new site, as will a section on bid solicitations and other procurement.
But Lopez said in an interview that she can’t guarantee that the new website will improve consistency of information across the board. Public meeting materials, for example, will still only be posted when staff in charge of a particular meeting make it happen. City Council meeting packets have been available on the web regularly this year, but lesser-known committees are sporadically posted, if ever. For example, the Water Conservation Committee packet online this week is from a July meeting, not the most recent meeting held in August, and the packet from the Public Works Committee meeting, where the website was discussed, is not available online.
The site is being redeveloped with input from key city divisions and other users, she said.
“We really feel like we have a meeting of the minds and if we don’t get the website we need, it isn’t going to be for lack of trying,” Lopez told members of the Public Works Committee on Monday.
Councilor Rebecca Wurzburger, who chairs the Public Works Committee, asked Monday if the site will include a way to track legislation that will be considered by the council. Lopez said adding a feature — similar to the one used by the city of Los Angeles on its website that posts votes, minutes and all documents related to a piece of legislation — could cost an additional $50,000.
The City Attorney’s Office compiles a table in its section of the current website that shows some information about proposed bills and their progress through city committees. those details will also appear on the new site, she said.
The main website (santafenm.gov) isn’t the only one that local taxpayers have paid for or continue to fund, however.

Department director Nick Schiavo said the city pays about $2,000 a year to a contractor to update the content. the division chose to create the separate website because of conflict about property listed for sale or lease there, but Schiavo said Monday that in light of the new main website for the city, he’s considering whether to keep the separate division site.
The Genoveva Chavez Community Center’s website (chavezcenter.com) is managed under a contract with Hutton Broadcasting that calls for radio ads and other marketing in addition to promoting the city Recreation Division on the site santafe.com.

Some marketing experts are predicting a return to strip shopping as customers continue to search for quality products and good customer service. Australian Marketing Institute associate Dr Gary Mortimer said shopping strip businesses could better engage with customers and provide higher quality products in comparison to larger mall experiences.
"What we're seeing is people going back to their specialty butcher, because they trust him and he may offer cooking suggestions and know the customer's name as well," Dr Mortimer said.
"People are recognising, that although shopping for convenience has its benefits, they often get better value for money and quality at designated specialty shops," he said.

The coalition has flagged changes to the fair dismissal code for small businesses.
Opposition small business spokesman Bruce Billson said a lot of the workplace relations framework under the Fair Work Act was ‘impenetrable’ for small business owners.
Mr Billson said much of the regime was devised with ‘big government’ talking to ‘big business’ and ‘big unions’.
The coalition has yet to unveil its workplace relations policy.
‘We’ve already identified the need to address the complexity, we’re already identified the need to tackle the militancy issue from small businesses and focus on productivity,’ he told Sky News on Sunday.
‘So we think an industrial relations system built largely on the framework that’s in place now but sensitive to the capacity of small business where the business proprietor is the person dealing with the pay and workplace relations issues (is needed).’
Mr Billson said the fair dismissal code for small business, which applies to small business employers with less than 15 staff had not been the simple straight forward process promised by the government.
Under the code employees cannot make a claim for unfair dismissal in the first 12 months of employment.
‘That so-called fair dismissal claim has proved to be absolutely useless.
‘So having a fair dismissal code that actually works … would be a huge step forward to the small business community.’
